He told on Thursday that 5G service in India will be launched by October 12. After the launch, it will be expanded to other cities and towns.

With this, he also said that we hope that 5G will reach every part of the country in the next two to three years. The industry is focusing on both urban and rural areas.

After the 5G spectrum auction, the Department of Telecommunication has received a payment of Rs 17,876 crore. Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea (Vi) and Adani Data Network have paid this for the recent auctions.
Telecom companies have bid Rs 1.5 lakh crore in 5G spectrum auction. In this, jio has bid the most. The date of 5G service launch date has not been decided yet.
Airtel had informed by issuing a press release that it can start the service in this month i.e. in August itself. At the same time, jio has not announced the date yet, but the company can start it only with the AGM to be held on August 29 i.e. two days later.
