PM Narendra Modi launched 5G test bed (5G testbed)
Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed during a virtual program of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) Silver Jubilee celebrations and launched 5G test beds. To commemorate the occasion, the PM has released a postage stamp carrying a government press release. Let us inform that the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has completed 25 years today.
This 5G testbed has been developed by eight institutes led by IIT Madras. Other institutions participating in the project include IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Kanpur, IISc Bangalore, Center of Excellence in Wireless Technology (CEWIT), and Society for Applied Microwave Electronics Engineering and Research (SAMEER).
This multi-institution collaborative project has been developed at a cost of over Rs 220 crore, the press release said.
Notably, the 5G testbed will pave the way for a supportive ecosystem for the Indian industry and startups. During this virtual program, Modi said, 5G test beds will play a big role in bringing 5G technology to the villages of the country and in that work. The connectivity of the 21st century will determine the country’s activity and 5G technology will bring positive changes in the governance of the country. Apart from this, PM Narendra Modi has said that this facility will increase and more employment opportunities will be created.
During this Silver Jubilee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that in the next 15 years, 5G technology will benefit India’s economy by about $ 450 million. Whereas 6G technology will emerge after this decade.
