Android 13 won’t come with a big design overhaul. Google may make some minor improvements to its Material U design introduced in Android 12. The developer reveals that the upcoming Android update will let users select a theme for the icons just like the rest of the user interface. However, this feature is likely to be exclusive to Pixel smartphones. Google will also require developers to change the icon theme to add a monochrome icon to the app.
The new Android 13 update will also allow users to choose between clock styles on the lock screen. Reports have revealed that the Android 13 update may introduce a new tap-to-transfer (TTT) system that will allow users to pass media controls to other devices. It is not yet known how this feature will work, but we can expect Android 13 to rely on NFC or ultra-wideband (UWB) technology.
