However, this text message and link turned out to be fake, as PIB fact-checked it and found that it is only a fake laptop scheme and the government is not running any such free laptop scheme. Get away from messages with Fake Laptop Scheme, otherwise you may be cheated
It is worth noting that a message is spreading very fast on social media for some time in which it is claimed that the Government of India is giving 5 lakh laptops for free and there is also a link to check eligibility for it, which is completely a Fake laptop scheme. The Ministry of Education of India is not running any such scheme in which laptops are available for free.
