However, this text message and link turned out to be fake, as PIB fact-checked it and found that it is only a fake laptop scheme and the government is not running any such free laptop scheme. It is worth noting that a message is spreading very fast on social media for some time in which it is claimed that the Government of India is giving 5 lakh laptops for free and there is also a link to check eligibility for it, which is completely a Fake laptop scheme. The Ministry of Education of India is not running any such scheme in which laptops are available for free.
