The Indian government recently asked Google and Apple to remove the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) game from their respective Play Stores. Now, the BGMI app is not available for download in India.

Crafton has previously said that it is working with the Indian government to bring the game but it seems the game developer is facing some difficulties. Meanwhile, gaming companies are urging the government to bring the game back on the Play Store.
Some gaming companies have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to do ‘fair treatment’ and help boost the gaming ecosystem in India. These companies are also urging the government to provide “equitable and fair treatment to all entities operating in India”. The letter to the PM requested his immediate intervention in the matter, seeking “advice and guidance to work towards more comprehensive dialogue and discussion in the future”.

Late last month, the government ordered Google and Apple to block the BGMI gaming app from their respective online stores under Section 69A of the Information Technology Act, 2000. Game developer Crafton recently announced that BGMI has crossed 100 million registered users in India.
