However, an exact date has not been revealed when the Kovid-19 caller tune will finally go off. But this is expected to happen soon with life returning to normal due to the reduction of Kovid across the country. The Kovid-19 caller tune was introduced two years ago. The caller tune had Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s voice in which the actor was heard explaining the safety measures for the pandemic.
Later in January 2021, it was replaced with a female voice. Which alerts about the Kovid-19 vaccination campaign when called. An official source said, “In view of the improvement in the situation of the corona epidemic in the country, the Health Ministry is now considering removing these audio clips, while other measures to spread awareness about the epidemic will continue.” In this case, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has written a letter to the Union Health Ministry requesting to remove the caller tune.
