Netflix : Is testing a new feature add a home. With the help of this, the company is planning to end the free password sharing business. Let us know that the company has recently launched the “Add Extra Member” option for users living in Chile, Costa Rica and Peru. Under this feature, people outside your home will have to pay to use your Netflix account. At the same time, this feature has not come in India yet. The video streaming platform has now announced a similar feature in a few more regions, named Add a Home.
Testing will start soon
Netflix will begin testing the new “Add a Home” option in countries such as Argentina, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras. Netflix has not yet provided any information about the charges users will be charged for sharing passwords outside their homes in India. But in the coming time such charges will be taken in other country. The company had earlier indicated that it would start charging all users for sharing their Netflix account passwords by the end of the year.
Netflix’s new “Add a Home” button will be seen in some regions from next month. Once this feature is rolled out, each Netflix account in these regions will include a Home. Under this, any person living in the same house will be able to use the platform on any device. Now, if you want to allow someone else to use your Netflix account, you have to pay a fee for it.
The company said that users on the Basic Netflix plan will be able to add one additional house, while Standard and Premium users will be able to add two and three additional homes. Netflix can also give users control over where their account is being used in these regions.
