Thereafter, it intends to expand its 5G network to every city across the country by December of 2023, which is about 18 months from now. “I would like to announce the next step that Jio is making in digital connectivity, especially in fixed broadband,” Mukesh Ambani told shareholders at the meeting through immersive and interactive metaverse technology. Reliance Jio Infocomm has secured spectrum in the 700MHz, 800MHz, 1800MHz, 3300MHz and 26GHz bands in the recently concluded 5G auctions by the Department of Telecommunications, where the government received bids worth around Rs 1.5 lakh. The RIL chairman also announced that Jio 5G services will reach “all towns, taluks and tehsils” in every corner of the country by December 2023.
